Check and exclude deals before you pay

Review & Close → Deal Review is the first of the three close steps and the cheapest place to fix a period. Every deal you drop here is a statement you do not have to re-review later.

Goal

Make sure the deals feeding this period's commission are the deals that should — no duplicates, no wrong owner, nothing that was reversed after it closed.

Prerequisites: a period with deals in it. You can work an open period — the page shows its status next to the title, e.g. open — but the usual moment is once the period reaches review.

Read the table

Pick the period from the dropdown at the top right; each option shows its deal count and state, e.g. "26 Aug – 25 Sep 2026 · 3 deals · open".

ColumnWhat it is
Deal NameThe deal, as named in Pipedrive
Deal IDIts Pipedrive id — the thing to quote in a support thread
AmountThe value the rules read
RecipientsWho this deal pays. Unmatched here is a problem, not a note
Period EventWhich event attributed the deal to this period
ExcludedWhether it has been dropped
Deal actionsThe row menu

Narrow it down

Four controls sit above the table:

  • Search deals… by name.
  • All Deals / Excluded — flip to Excluded to audit what has already been dropped.
  • All Recipients — filter to one person. Use this when one rep's number looks wrong.
  • All Events — filter by period event.

Exclude a deal

  1. Find the deal.
  2. Open Deal actions on its row.
  3. Choose Exclude deal.

Expected result: the row is marked in Excluded, and the deal stops contributing to commission when the period is next computed.

To put it back, the same menu offers Include deal. Open in CRM jumps to the deal in Pipedrive.

Exclude before you validate, not after

Excluding a deal changes any statement it fed. Do it after you have validated statements and you get to review them a second time. Deal Review is step 1 of three for exactly this reason.

What to look for

Recipients: Unmatched. Lokom could not resolve the deal's owner to a participant. That deal pays nobody — a silent zero, not an error. Fix the owner in Pipedrive, or add that person as a participant, then recompute.

Warnings on a row. Three you will meet:

WarningMeaning
Owner could not be matched to a Lokom individualAs above — nobody gets paid
Deal amount is missing or zeroNothing to apply a rate to
Failed data validationThe deal did not pass Lokom's checks

Deleted deals. They group separately with a header like "Deleted (2) · excluded from calculation". Deleted in Pipedrive means excluded here; you do not have to do anything.

The Period Event column. This is the field that decided which period the deal landed in — Won time, Close time, Local close date, Local won date, Add time. If a deal is in the wrong period, this column is why, and the fix is the rule's period-date field, not the deal. → Create a rule

A deal with no attribution date shows "This deal has no attribution date." Set the field in Pipedrive, then recompute.

Take the list away with you

Export CSV gives finance the deal-level list to reconcile against their own numbers. It is not a payroll artifact — that is the payout summary. → Export to payroll

Then move on

Review Commissions at the top of the page takes you to step 2.

Common mistakes

  • Excluding instead of fixing the source. A wrong owner in Pipedrive will be wrong again next month. Exclude to unblock this period; fix Pipedrive so it does not recur.
  • Skipping the Excluded filter. Deals excluded in a previous pass stay excluded. Check the list before you conclude a rep is underpaid.
  • Assuming Unmatched is cosmetic. It is money going to nobody.
