Glossary

Every Lokom term, in plain language, alphabetically. For the nine that matter most, read Key concepts instead.

Accelerator

A band in a multiplier ladder with a multiplier above 1× — the rate rises past that point of attainment. Needs a quota to measure against.

Active (plan)

A plan that is live and paying. Its reps are billable.

Admin

A Lokom login with full access: invite people, archive, change roles, edit billing, see everyone's payouts, build plans. Contrast Member.

Advanced step

An optional step on a rule: threshold, multiplier or cap. Belongs to one rule, not to the plan.

Archived

Switched off but not deleted. An archived participant leaves payout calculation and your bill, keeping their history. An archived user can no longer sign in.

Attainment

How much of a quota someone has reached, as a percentage. What accelerators, thresholds and quota rules measure.

Attribution / attribution date

Which period a deal belongs to, decided by a date field on the deal. A deal with no attribution date can't be paid until you set one.

Audit log

The record of who changed what and when. Included in your data export.

Billable rep

The billing unit. A participant who is not archived, is in a role, whose role has a plan, and whose plan is live. All four, or they cost nothing.

Cap

An advanced step that stops a rule's payout climbing past a ceiling, with an optional floor and an alert at 80% of the cap.

Closed (period)

Terminal and read-only. The authoritative payout record; closing notifies payees. Reopening is admin-only and invalidates existing exports.

Closed-won

A Pipedrive deal outcome. Most rules fire on closed-won deals.

Deal Review

The step where you exclude deals that shouldn't pay before working through statements.

Decelerator

A band in a multiplier ladder with a multiplier below 1× — the rate steps down instead of rising. Reps see it labelled as such on My Plan.

Draft (plan or version)

Unpublished. A draft plan calculates nothing, pays nobody and costs nothing.

Field / field catalog

The Pipedrive fields Lokom knows about. Some are source fields (the basis a rate is applied to), some are period date fields (which decide attribution), some identify people.

Free tier

€0, one billable rep. Not time-limited. Configuration is unrestricted — the cap bites only when you publish a live plan covering a second rep.

Grace days (period close)

The days after a period ends during which it stays open, so late deals can still land in it.

Grace period (deletion)

The 14 days between requesting workspace deletion and the purge. Your team can still log in, you can still export, and any admin can cancel.

Guide me

The recommended route when creating a plan: Lokom walks you from OTE and variable share to a suggested commission rate. The alternative is I know what I'm building, which goes straight to the rule builder.

Live

Shorthand for a plan that is active and paying. What makes a rep billable.

Manager

A job, not a permission level. Lokom has no manager tier: a manager is a participant whose role carries an override rule. To see their team's numbers in Lokom they need an Admin login, which shows them everyone's.

Manual pay

A pay line a person decided rather than a rule calculated — a one-off bonus, a qualitative MBO, or a correction. Reps see these labelled "Added by your team."

Member

A Lokom login that sees only their own commissions and the plans they're on — My Payouts and My Plan, and nothing else. One of Lokom's two permission levels. Contrast Admin.

My Payouts / My Plan

The two pages a rep with a login gets. Their own figures only.

OTE

On-target earnings — total pay at 100% of quota, base plus variable. The Guide me route when building a plan starts here.

Override

A rule whose recipient is Manager override — it pays someone on another person's production, typically a manager on their team's deals. It adds cost; it does not reduce what the rep earns.

Participant

A person whose commission Lokom manages. Usually pulled in from Pipedrive. Not the same as a user — most participants never sign in.

Period

The window commission is calculated over. Moves OPEN → COMPUTING → REVIEW → CLOSED.

Period event

The thing on a deal that triggers a rule — closing, invoicing, and so on. Which event you pick changes which period the commission is attributed to.

Plan

The compensation plan for a role: the full set of rules deciding what someone in that role earns. States: draft, active, retired.

Plan version

One saved state of a plan: draft, active or superseded. Old versions stay readable, so an old payout still explains itself.

Primary quota

The one quota per role marked as its headline number. It drives OTE, it is the default view on Attainment, and it is the only quota Smart rate measures against. Promoting another quota demotes the current one — a role always has exactly one.

Quota

A named metric a role is measured on, with a basis field saying what it counts. A role can own several; exactly one is the primary quota. Any rule using attainment needs one.

Quota basis

The numeric or currency field a quota measures. Locked once targets are set — to measure something else, create a second quota.

Ramp

The point at which commission starts — "Commission starts once you reach 60% of your quota."

Recipient

Step 4 of a rule: Deal owner, Manager override, Custom owner (named on the deal via a Pipedrive field), or Custom split (shares summing to 100%).

Reverse charge

The EU VAT treatment applied when you supply a valid EU VAT ID from a country where it applies.

Role

A job within a team — "Sales Rep", "Team Lead". Plans attach to roles, not to people.

Role target

The number a role as a whole is measured against — what team bonuses and manager overrides measure. Rolled up from members' quotas as a suggestion, then committed at save time; later member-quota changes do not move it. Without one, a team bonus is not computed at all.

Rule

One earning mechanic inside a plan, built as a sequence of steps: Trigger, Calculation, Source, Recipient — plus optional advanced steps. It reads back as a sentence: "On Deal won, pay 6% of source of Deal value to Deal owner."

Rule sentence

How a rule reads back on the plan page — "On Deal won, pay 6% of source of Deal value to Deal owner." The fastest check that a rule says what you meant.

Smart rate

A checkbox on a rule's Calculation step. Instead of one rate for everyone, Lokom computes a rate per recipient from their OTV and quota, so each lands on their target variable pay at 100% attainment. Measures against the primary quota only.

Snapshot (billing)

The moment your billable reps are counted — when the period closes. Not the peak, not an average. No proration.

Source

Step 3 of a rule: the field a percentage is applied to — Deal value or a Custom source. Locked to the quota's basis on a gated rule.

Spiff

A short-term, targeted incentive layered on top of the normal plan. Not available yetPlans → Spiffs exists in the navigation but reads "Coming soon." Until it ships, a one-off incentive is entered as a manual pay line on the statement.

Statement

One participant's commission for one period: the total, its components, and the deals behind each. States: draft, pending, validated, rejected.

Stress Test

Replays a draft plan against deals you have already closed, so you see what it would have paid before it pays anyone. Advisory — it never blocks activation.

Superseded

A plan version replaced by a newer active one. Still readable, never deleted.

Team

A grouping of roles and people. What team-level rules and manager overrides resolve through.

Threshold

An advanced step that pays nothing until an attainment level is cleared — measured in % of quota, an amount, or a number of deals.

Trigger

Step 1 of a rule: the period event that fires it — Deal won or a Custom event — plus optional filter conditions. It also decides which period the commission is attributed to.

User

Someone who can sign into Lokom, as Admin or Member. Not the same as a participant, and users never affect your bill.

Workspace

Your organisation in Lokom. One per company.
