Set up your workspace name, timezone and periods

These settings apply to everyone in your workspace. Only admins can change them.

Where to start: Settings → General. The page has three tabs: General, Period Preferences and Danger Zone.

Rename your workspace or fix the timezone

  1. Go to Settings → General → General.
  2. Edit Workspace name — this is how your workspace shows up across Lokom. It is pre-filled from your Pipedrive company name at sign-up.
  3. Pick your Timezone.
  4. Click Save changes.

Expected result: Changes saved.

Timezone decides where a deal lands

The timezone doesn't only format dates — it determines period boundaries. A deal closed late on the last day of the month can fall into a different period if the timezone is wrong. Set it correctly before your first close, not after.

Set your commission calendar

Where to start: Settings → General → Period Preferences.

A period is the window Lokom groups deals into — usually a month. This is not your payroll date; it's the measurement window.

The page runs top to bottom as Step 1 → Step 2 · Details → Step 3, then a Preview and a Review & save block.

Step 1 — Commission calendar

TypeWhat it does
MonthlyOne period per calendar or fiscal month
QuarterlyThree-month periods, aligned to your fiscal quarter
CustomYou define every period's exact date range yourself

Step 2 · Details — how periods begin

If you chose Monthly, pick when each period begins:

  • 1st of the month (calendar) — the ordinary case.
  • A specific day (fiscal month) — e.g. periods start on day 26. Short months clamp to their last day; Lokom warns you about this.

If you chose Custom, add each range with a name, start date and end date.

  • Ranges must not overlap or leave gaps, and must start today or later.
  • Maximum 24 ranges. Use Generate next N periods to extend from your last range instead of typing each one.
  • Period names must be unique — the field tells you available or taken as you type.

Step 3 — Period close

"When a period locks after it ends. Until it closes, late deals can still land in it." This step is global — it applies whichever calendar shape you chose.

  • Automatically, N days after the period ends (a grace window for late deals). Use the + / − stepper to set the grace days.
  • Manually"Periods stay open until you close them yourself."

Preview — check it says what you meant

"A quick check that the calendar matches what you meant — not a full grid." On a fiscal month you get a description rather than dates, because the exact dates shift each month.

Review & save — the impact block

Lokom shows an Applies from date and tells you what will change. Save with Save Settings.

  • "Safe to save" — the change only affects periods created on or after that date. History is untouched.
  • "Applies inside the current period" — your open period is unchanged. A change can never alter a period that is already running; the new settings start at the next one.
  • "New ranges will overlap your open period" — you're defining custom ranges that overlap a period that's already open. Deals in the overlap could land in either period. Review carefully before confirming.

Expected result: Saved. Your changes apply to periods created on or after <date>.

Watch for: if you edit for a long time and the next period ticks over, Lokom shows "The next period advanced while you were editing" and asks you to review and save again.

Danger Zone

The third tab holds two irreversible-ish actions:

  • Download your data — a full export.
  • Delete workspace — permanent, after a 14-day grace period.

Both are covered in Download your data or delete your workspace.
